United States: Procurement bill moves through Senate finance
25 April, 2017: The Senate finance committee on Tuesday morning moved the ”Procurement bill” forward, setting the stage for a vote on the measure in the state senate. The bill, sponsored by Republican Deputy Majority Leader John De Francisco of Syracuse, would restore parts of the Comptroller’s oversight of contracts from SUNY, CUNY and OGS. The Comptroller lost some of that oversight in a legislation put forth by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and approved by the Legislature in 2011 and 2012.
